My name is David Csonka, and I live in the amazing city of Denver, Colorado. Before moving out west, I lived in Florida, where I graduated from the Florida State University with a Master’s Degree in Information Science.

I worked as a web programmer for several years after graduating from college, but upon moving across the country I decided to focus on writing and publishing on the web. I have several blogs, and write about a variety of topics, ranging from nutrition, health, and fitness, and also growing food and self-reliance.

I write for the print magazine “Paleo“, a periodical devoted to ancestral health and fitness.

I like to teach and help people, so it seemed only natural to use my love of writing to share with others my learnings and experiences. What started as an attempt to improve my own situation has turned into a mission to help others discover a new outlook on life. My hope is that I can improve the world in some small way.

I’m an incredibly inquisitive person, and I spend an inordinate amount of time reading and learning about new subjects. In my spare time I like to go on hikes in the mountains, riding my bike around the city, and taking photographs of nature and wildlife.

You can read more about my various projects below:

naturally-engineered

To the detriment of many, our civilization has lost touch with the natural world and the ancestral nature of our human bodies. The increasing levels of disease and ill-health in our modern world is a testament to this problem. For our culture to thrive and move forward, we must take a look back at where we came from, and how we once lived.

Topics: nutrition, food, fitness, running, barefoot running, exercise physiology

photographs-of-nature

This website was started as a father and son project. We both enjoy photography a great deal and our work is shared there in the gallery store for you to view. We hope you enjoy these photographs as much as we enjoyed taking them. Nature has a beauty that is there for everyone to find and enjoy, you just have to go out there and look for it and take a little of it into yourself.
